Patrick Moccia was an abusive father and husband and he doesn't deserve to be honored like this. Look deeper.

To start off I would like to express not only my deepest condolances but also gratitude. Mr. Moccia was one of the best teachers I ever had. He was a friend, a mentor, and he always cared about you. He taught me for three years and I'm glad to say Mr. Moccia and I were close. Sometimes I come to this site randomly just to act like everything is fine but somehow I can't forgive myself. With all the help and advice he gave me I never once noticed a sign and sometimes I blame myself for it. Mr. Moccia changed my life and that doesn't even begin to describe the impact he's had on me. He always believed in me when I didn't and he always made an effort to be sure I was doing the best I could in school. I remember days during class he'd sit me down and look through my grades with me and help me create a game plan on how I could improve them. I just wish I could thank him one last time.
I wish your family nothing but love and happiness, and I hope to continue Mr. Moccia's legacy helping people the way he helped me in the near future.

As a former student of his, I’d just like to say that Mr.Moccia was a one of a kind teacher who found a way connect to his students like no one else could. He treated each of us with respect and genuinely cared about each one of us. After my brief year with Mr.Moccia, I left for college. To which he asked me to keep in touch and that someday when I graduate we could grab a drink together. My only wish is that I’d get to share with him all the accomplishments he’s helped me achieve, and to thank him for all he has done. He will truly be missed

Lord, from whom nothing can ever separate us, The Moccaio family, friends, faculty, students, the Pompton Lakes community, & countless lives Patrick touched are in your hands. Surround them all with the light of your love and with assurances of love and safety. Help them to find a way to live again and to know that, even in the most desperate of situations and most disastrous of events, you are there—unseen and unheard, perhaps, but nevertheless present and active in their broken and hurting lives. These requests I make in the name of the One who came that we might live anew. In your son Jesus name I pray, Amen.

We would like to offer the Moccia family our deepest and most sincere condolences on the passing of Patrick. Pat was a very special person to us and judging from the outpouring of love and admiration expressed hereto, he was an important presence in the lives of all who crossed his path. Our remembrances of Patrick as a young boy, skiing with us on the slopes of Vermont and his quick wit at holiday gatherings will be missed beyond measure.

I teach science at Pompton Lakes High. I first met Mr. Moccia at the copy room and we stroke a brief conversation about how to correctly pronounce his last name and about the challenges involving remote teaching. From time to time, when you crossed paths, we would talk about woodcraft. We never had long conversations but his manner and tone always radiated sincerity, friendship and kindred spirit. May God give strength and spiritual peace to his wife, daughters, family and friends in this time of sorrow.

Pat loved Mammoth and was so looking forward to retiring here with Christy some day. He said, "I can't wait,' on more than one occasion. We stayed in regular contact about Mammoth and the house here. He wanted everything to be perfect and he was so supportive of Kathi and I living here. He loved everything about the Eastern Sierra, especially the hiking, mountain biking and skiing. I can hardly believe we will not be able to share these beautiful mountains with him some day. Rest in Peace, dear Son-in-Law!

Sending my condolences to Pat and all of his Family. My first year at Del Val was the summer of 2018. Pat was the first person I met in the hallway. We got to know each other very well as he asked me about school and more. I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do and he sat with me for almost two hours trying to help me figure out my future. He picked me up when I was down. It’s hard to gather my thoughts as I now am in my second year of school and how he impacted this chapter of my life. Rest In Peace Pat you will forever be appreciated and missed.

Pat was quick to answer my need and question for mountain bike trails in the area as a new member of the community last year at Del Val. He pounded the pump and bump at Nockamixon like no other. He was welcoming, kind and gracious. Will think of you out there on the trails. For his family, my profound and sincere condolences. I am so so sorry for this huge loss.
