From NALC 396
It is with deep regret I write this memory of my long time friend, a friend to my wife and family, and a loyal supported of the union, as a member and official.
He protected the rights of the members as a shop steward and the union as trustee.
He participated in the union from the beginning of his postal career. My memory goes back to a red headed kid who I drove to his mom's in Hillside where he was living.
Many a trip he took with us representing the union, the last one when for the first he drove because he bought a new car soon after he bought a house.
The last picture we have of Joe was about two years ago at a union function where he was watching and guarding my one year old son while my wife and I checked in.
Joe was kind and never has a bad word for any body nor they for him.
Oh Danny boy the pipes are calling, and they called for Joe. An angel must need a union rep.
