Robert Ferro

Obituary of Robert Ferro

Robert (Bobby) Ferro, died at his home in Bridgewater, NJ on Sunday, September 5, 2021, at the age of 27 after nearly a 10-year fight with brain cancer.  Bobby graduated from Rutgers Preparatory High School in 2012, from Drew University in 2016, and in 2018 from Villanova University where he obtained his Masters in Clinical/Mental Health Counseling.

Following graduation, Bobby worked at NorthEast Treatment Centers in Philadelphia, PA as an addiction therapist; he was loved by his clients because he treated them with kindness, compassion, and respect.  Bobby refused to let his brain cancer diagnosis define him – brain cancer may have robbed him of a long life, but it did not rob him of a full life.

Bobby’s beautiful smile, which brightened even the darkest days, will be deeply missed by his parents, Michael and Alysia, his brothers, Jonathan and Michael and Michael’s fiancée Amanda Liccardi, his grandparents, John and Ann Baldwin, and many family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Bobby’s honor or “Hope Brings Strength” to the New Brunswick Ronald McDonald House (https://rmh-cnj.org) or Samaritan Homeless Interim Program (SHIP), Somerville, NJ (http://ship908.com).

Viewing services will take place at Higgins Funeral Home in Watchung NJ on Tuesday September 7, 2021 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Bobby has always had compassion for those who struggled and was known to feed the homeless of Philadelphia, so to continue his legacy, if you are so inclined, please feel free to bring a nonperishable item to the viewing and everything will be donated to SHIP in his name.  A funeral mass will be held at Immaculate Conception, Somerville, NJ at 10 AM on Wednesday, September 8, 2021.  The burial service will be held at a later date and will be private.
