Obituary of Carlo Piegari
Carlo Piegari, age 91, passed away on Saturday October 16, 2021 at his home in Warren surrounded by his loving family. Born in Newark, Carlo had grown up in Hillside and had resided in Warren for over 58 years.
Carlo attended the Bob Jones University in Greenville, SC and later earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Bowling Green State University in Ohio.
He proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict having been stationed in Germany as a radio operator.
Carlo joined the family business, American Grocery; a food distribution company and worked there until his retirement in 2008.
Carlo was hard working and dedicated to his family. He was often found helping others. In his spare time, he would enjoy taking rides to visit old and new acquaintances or just visiting interesting places, but most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends, especially playing with his grandchildren. He will be missed by all.
He is predeceased by his siblings Anthony, Angelo, Jimmy, Jerry, Lilly, Angelina, and Carmella.
Carlo is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Marlene Joan Piegari, a son, Gregory and his wife Caryl, and a daughter, Marlene Piegari; two grandchildren, Jaxon and Olivia. He is also survived by his brother, George.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday October 20, 2021, at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, NJ from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The funeral service will be on Thursday, October 21, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. The interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Hillside, NJ.
