Melissa was my neighbor, when I was growing up in Scotch Plains. She was always very kind and was always upbeat. I am very saddened to hear about her passing, as she had such a vibrant personality. She will be truly missed, and to her family, I am so sorry for your loss.

My sweet Melissa! I knew Melissa in high school and we would eat lunch together. I loved making her laugh and seeing her face turn the same color as her hair! What a great loving spirit she carried and we always had a good time. She will be missed beyond words and my condolences to her husband and family. Even in the age of FaceBook, Melissa would sometimes send me a personal message, depending on what I was posting and just ask "is everything okay with you?" Those simple words from her really touched me. It meant that she was looking, loving and offering support. My heart will forever be heavy, but I know that she knows, she was loved.

I met Melissa when she was in high school and I was one of her managers at Shop Rite, she was always a pleasure to work with and I will always remember her beautiful smile, laugh, and of course those gorgeous red curls. I just passed her two weeks ago in her grooming coach ,never thinking that would be the last time I saw her smile. My heartfelt condolences are with her family, husband and friends.. I know she will be truly missed and I will cherish the fond memories I have of her.

I am writing with such a heavy heart. Melissa has been our groomer for over 14 years. She loving took care of our Maddie for 12 of those years and Harlee the past two. When we lost Maddie, Melissa was so kind and caring at that time- giving us a remembrance candle and statue of an angel holding a puppy. She was an angel to everyone's fur babies now and forever. Sending prayers to a her family - she was a very special person!

I am so sorry for your loss. I knew Melissa through the Grooming world. I am a fellow NJ Mobile Groomer. Kept in touch with Melissa on Facebook and enjoyed seeing her at our fun parties. Such a lively spirit and loss of talent and care giving that is not easily replaced. I'm sure she had a crowd to greet her at the rainbow bridge.

Dear, Bob, Karen, Heather, and Family,
Words cannot express how sorry I am for your loss. The first time I met Melissa was at Franklin Spier. I was like who is this fiery redhead who loves the JETS so much? I said to myself I need to know more. Before I knew it, we were roommates, best friends, then more. Even though our relationship didn’t blossom like we hoped it would, I will always hold a special place in my heart and soul for Melissa. I am so glad I played a small part in helping her live out her passion for animals and starting her dog grooming dream. Her passion for media buying paled in comparison to her love for trimming and bathing her fury friends. She loved our little kitties, George, Weezie and Baxter as if they were her children. I know she felt the same for her canine pets Mickey, Bailey and Sadie and all the rest. I will only remember the good times we had, like Christmas’s at your house, vacations at your Florida home, the parties at our NYC apartment or just hanging out at your pool. I miss those days and I miss you all. Melissa was a one of kind. The life of the party with an infectious laugh, passionate, highly intelligent, and beautiful soul inside and out. Please except my sincerest condolences.
All my love,
Jon

There are no words…These are a few pics of my fur baby that Melissa has been grooming and loving for 10 years and even longer with my other dog before she passed. Notice the scarfs, bowtie, squeaky toys, and love! That is what Melissa was; LOVE!! She was such a wonderful person; so full of life and love. That she has been taken from us so tragically is beyond our understanding and comprehension. To believe that she is happy now with all her fur babies, is a necessity, to help us bear this devastating loss! This is so unreal to me that I keep thinking it must be a dream! God, bless Melissa and her beloved family. Bring them comfort in this unbearable time of sorrow and help us all to come to terms with this tremendous loss of our beautiful friend, sister, daughter, wife, aunt, cousin. There are no words….

I am so sorry for your loss. Melissa was such a kind and loving person. My pups Lacey and Duke always looked forward to their grooming with Melissa. They would jump right into her truck, tags wagging and kisses for Melissa. Melissa was the one who told me about The Goats of Anarchy and how much she loved volunteering there, next thing you know, I applied and have been loving volunteering at GOA. Thank you Melissa! You will be greatly missed, by all humans and animals. Rest in Peace

Dear Marv, Mr. & Mrs. Craden & Family,
There are no words to describe how shocked and devastated we are to hear about Melissa. We are so deeply sorry. Melissa was truly a loving person and one of a kind. We met Melissa in 2010 when we were looking for an apartment and had several different units to choose from. When we came across an empty apartment underneath a vibrant, colorful balcony with a dog grooming van parked in front, we knew that was the one for us! How lucky we ended up! Over the course of living there, we became close. Surviving floods, hurricanes and the occasional winter storms together. We had lots of laughs and fun nights. Melissa was a great friend, neighbor and an amazing groomer. She had a heart of gold. The little handmade bandanas she would make for the dogs, to the cute pictures/videos and all the extra kisses and cuddles showed what a kindhearted person she was. She made such an impact on our lives and we are sure on so many others.
Melissa, thank you for making Lila so beautiful for the past 11 1/2 years and being so sweet and kind to her. She loved you as much as you loved her. You were such a sweet soul and we know you are grooming and playing with all the dogs who have crossed the rainbow bridge.
We will miss you so very much!
Love,
Jay, Jess & Lila Slawinski
