Obituary of Eric Siegel

Eric Siegel, age 47 passed away on Saturday November 6, 2021, at RWJ University Hospital at Rahway in Rahway NJ. Born in Plainfield, Eric had grown up in South Plainfield and has resided in Colonia for several years.

Eric had received his bachelor’s degree in both culinary arts and business hospitality from Johnson and Wales University in Providence, RI.

Eric was the owner of Life Events, a wedding company that he founded. For the past eight years Eric has been employed at the NJ Veteran’s Home in Paramus as the food and beverage director distributing food to those in need.

Eric enjoyed fishing, playing chess and sketching. He was also very proud of receiving his notary recently. Most of all he loved spending time his family especially his son Alexander. He will be missed by all.

He is survived by his loving son Alexander, his mother Lori Siegel, brother Glenn Siegel and his wife Jessica, two nieces, Lyla and Giovanna, and a nephew, Zev. He is predeceased by his father, Ronald, in 2012.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday November 11, 2021, at 12 pm at Higgins Home for Funerals 752 Mountain Blvd. Watchung NJ followed by the interment at Hebrew Cemetery of Samptown in South Plainfield NJ. The family will be sitting Shiva on Thursday and Saturday beginning at 6pm at Congregation Knesseth Israel 229 Mountain Ave, Bound Brook, NJ 08805 and on Sunday at 6 pm at 1 Stirling Dr., Community Room, Piscataway NJ 08854.
