Obituary of Theodore E. Panek

Theodore Panek, 84

Longtime Plainfield resident Ted Panek, 84, died on Tuesday, December 21, 2021, at Hackensack Meridian Health JFK University Medical Center in Edison.

Mr. Panek was born February 1937, in Jamaica, Queens, NY to William and Mary Panek. Ted’s birth during the depression made him a born tinkerer, fixer of everything and collector. He also had a great love of Christmas, Christmas collectibles and the Hallmark Channel. Mr. Panek served in the United States Army and was stationed at Tobyhanna Army Depot in PA from 1959 to 1961.

He worked many years in the insurance industry culminating his career as an Executive Vice President/Treasurer of Weghorn Agencies.

Mr. Panek was predeceased by his wife, Catherine, the great love of his life,  in 1999. 

He is survived by his sons John and Robert and his daughter Kristina and many friends and family.

A memorial service will be held at St. Bernards of Clairvaux & St. Stanislaus Kostka, 1235 George Street, Plainfield, New Jersey 07062 on Friday, December 31, 2021, at 10:30 a.m.
