Al was one of my best friends! I have many wonderful memories of him! This 1st photo was taken at his birthday dinner in 2017 just before I moved back to Louisiana. I'm so glad I got the opportunity to see him one last time when I visited our friends Oliver & Lisa in August of last year.

I don’t have a lot of memories from around age four or five but one is of Alfred at a family gathering at Cappy and Barbara’s home; he made a point to come over with a smile and a huge, brawly manner to talk to me as if I were an adult. From that moment on he was one of the first people I looked for—plus, he was an easy person to find in a crowd, with a personality as big as his stature!

Al, where do I begin? The Who, The Stones, The Allman Brothers, The Grateful Dead, Zeppelin to name a few! I have many great memories from back then, and you were a big part of it! Many times you sat in the passenger seat and made a great co-pilot (always made it to our destination) now your gone. Doesn’t seem fair. You’ve earned your way into heaven just asking you to put a good word in for the rest of when it’s our time! Rest In Peace old friend until we meet again, and just know I have regrets!

My deepest and truest condolences to Al’s family. I will pray for God to comfort you and give you peace in this time of mourning. Al will be truly missed. We loved him and witnessed his loving heart. The lovingness he attributed to God changing his heart and life. Al’s testimony has not only touched me but also others. He would share his faith and hope in the eternal future we share in Christ. Until we meet again my dear brother.

I became friendly with Al when we shared a room at the men's retreat about 17 years ago.
I often visited Al and Mike Wells at their house, bringing my dog, Cocoa, who Al loved. Al was a good friend over the years and I will miss him.

Al you will truly be missed. I will never forget the fun we had in this day at Esther and Arturo's wedding. We even had on the same color. I enjoyed our everyday scriptures and will definitely miss them. Rest with Jesus my friend. Love you and see you again

We pray that God would comfort the family during this difficult time. Ed and I will miss Al, who was like the brother we never had. Al certainly had an impact on many lives, especially on those who were struggling with addiction. Often he would share his own testimony, to those traveling on the road to recovery, telling about the hope and deliverance he found though Christ, Al was very active in ministering to those in the Elizabeth community through prayer walks and Shepherds feeding the needy. We will truly miss him! But now although we are saddened by his passing we know that our Lord is saying to Al, “We’ll done Al, my good and faithful servant!” You’re now in God’s presence without pain or struggle. We’ll see you again brother…
