Obituary of Lillian Jolly
Surrounded by her loving family, Lillian Jolly passed away at her Watchung home on May 4th, 2022.
Born May 19, 1926, in Mansfield Ohio, she attended Mansfield high school and started her career at Westinghouse, ultimately transferring to New York City, where she worked as the Regional Manager of the X-Ray division.
While at Westinghouse, she met the love of her life, Gordon Jolly. They were married in September of 1956 and were together for 65 years. They built a home in Watchung New Jersey, where they raised their 2 children. Lillian supported her children in numerous activities including Scouting and sports. She was proud to have them both graduate college and become successful in their careers. She later resumed her career at Safeco Insurance before joining Bell Labs / Lucent technologies where she held a key position as Patent Administrator.
Lillian enjoyed movies, bowling, golf, dancing, and travel. Above all, she was a devoted wife, sister, mother, grandmother, and aunt and loved being with her family. One of her favorite roles was being “Yia Yia” to her grandchildren. Her generous heart and fun-loving spirit will be remembered by all those who knew her.
Lillian was predeceased by her brother George Kitrenos, and sister Poppy Angelas.
She is survived by her husband, Gordon Jolly, son Jack, daughter Paula Ann, son in law Kenneth Zusi, and grandchildren Kaelyn and Jake. She is also further survived by her nephews, Jack (Susan) Kitrenos, Gus (Connie) Angelas, and nieces, Kathy (Gus) Fotos and Paulie Thill.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 10, 2022, from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Boulevard, Watchung New Jersey. The funeral service will follow the viewing at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Westfield, New Jersey, at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 10, 2022.
