Eric lived next door to me so we grew up together, he was like a little brother to me..my mother told me that I potty trained him..lol
He loved my mother's cooking and spent alot of time at our house when parents were out. His smile lit up a room, Such a gentle soul. Far too many memories to recount. Although I do remember A-day when we were cutting through someone's yard on bicycles and Eric thought he could grab the tree limb above. Well he did but he also broke his arm in 3 places when he fell to the ground. He was an amazing athlete and fearless. He will be missed here on Earth but welcomed in heaven by his brother and parents and others that we have lost far too soon.

Eric, when I met you 25 years ago you were Hagen’s lifelong best friend, who he always considered a brother. I instantly grew to love you as much as he did. As a constant in our lives, you have always been family. Your kindness, gentleness and phenomenal sense of humor is what drew us all in. Your smile and laugh were contagious. It was such a privilege to be close to you and you will never be forgotten and could never be replaced. I’ve been missing your daily calls to Hagen and your hilarious banter with each other. We are so blessed to have your loving companion “Finn” as a beautiful reminder of you. We instantly fell in love with this dog, as we did you. Rest In Peace Eric. You were one of a kind.

Wow. What a sad loss. Eric was an amazing friend and always there for you. I remember sleepovers, pond and street hockey and great times at PCC and Lynchburg. You will be missed along with your parents and Greg. Rest In Peace my friend.

Blatzy boy. It's hard to believe I am writing this. While it was a long time ago I will always remember the early days back in Plainfield in the late 70's. Your Mom forcing us to play tennis at the PCC under the lights of the new courts. Sleepovers at your house when we played hall football with your brother Greg and my brother Scott. Man, they tossed us around like rag dolls. Then the high school Canterbury years (Photo attached). You were a good friend with an infectious laugh/giggle. You are gone far too young like Greg and Scott. RIP young Blatzy boy and may the heavens rejoice in your arrival.

I feel fortunate to have spent time with Eric this past year. In his 50s Eric was as kind, generous and funny as he was as a teenager. My kids took to him immediately and found his laugh, as we all did, infectious.
This photo, with Jeb and Kurt, was taken in Maine July 2021 - Eric was my son's laser tag partner - they lost because Eric was laughing too hard to shoot so he simply ran from his opponents. I don't think he hit anyone. As usual he had us all laughing.
I saw him this June, and while he wasn't feeling his best, he still found time to visit, share his love for Finn and inquire about my family and friends. He spoke about the new house with such enthusiasm and, as usual, talked about hosting friends immediately. I will miss Eric terribly and hope he is resting comfortably with his parents and brother.
Rest in peace, E.

The attached Photo was July 15th 2022 in Eric’s backyard the first day he was staying at the house he purchased at the shore. He was an amazing person and friend whose heart was as big as his personality. Really loved that guy and have a mix of emotions but when I see his face it makes me smile. The gods must be crazy because he is too young but I would take him to have around if I could so who could blame them. Luv you buddy
