Obituary of Chantell Denise Williams
Chantell Denise Williams, age 45, passed away on August 30, 2022, at Overlook Hospital in Summit, NJ. Chantell was born in Elizabeth, was raised in Roselle, had resided in Newark and moved to Piscataway in 2000.
Chantell graduated from Abraham Clark High School in Roselle and went on to further her education at Union County College and Cittone Institute. She was employed at Chubb Insurance in Warren NJ as an office administrator for 14 years and most recently was the owner/ operator of her own business, Chan’s Kidz in Piscataway, NJ as a caretaker including for children with special needs.
She was a deeply spiritual woman, a slave for Christ as she would say. She patterned her life in the example of Jesus while giving honor to the Most High in every way. With the Bible being her favorite book, her relationship with God was her most precious possession and drove her to defend and share the truth with all she encountered. She was truly a woman of God.
Chantell was a very active person who enjoyed many activities such as playing tennis and basketball, roller skating, hiking, bowling, listening to music and dancing, particularly line dancing. She also liked to spend her time reading and researching, traveling, playing the piano, observing nature around her, watching movies with her family, drinking wine with good company and writing, whether it was loving notes or rebuttals.
Yes, Chantell loved to have fun and enjoy herself, but what brought her most pleasure and fulfillment, besides her relationship with God, was doing for others. In addition to Chantell’s love, thoughtfulness and unselfishness flowed through her very veins. The greatest joys of her life were spent making others feel genuinely loved, and their happiness brought her great satisfaction. Her gifts in this area had no bounds whether it was family, friends, acquaintances or even strangers. Chantell Denise Williams was the ultimate giver.
She is predeceased by her father, Benjamin Battle in 2001, and her sister, Crystal Battle in 2020.
She is survived by her loving husband, Vashon Williams, of 25 years of marriage; her three children, Dejah Williams, Kaelaan Williams, and Davon Williams; her sister, Kisha Hairston (Dave) and her mother, Evon Battle, and beloved aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, September 3, 2022, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, NJ. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, September 4, 2022, at 10:00 am at the funeral home. Cremation will be private.
Chantell has the following Bible verse printed on the wall of her home as you enter it.
Joshua 24: 15b
“As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord”
The Bible verse below was referenced in Chantell’s spiritual notes.
Proverbs 31: 28-31
28 Her children arise and call her blessed;
her husband also, and he praises her:
29 “Many women do noble things,
but you surpass them all.”
30 Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting;
but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.
31 Honor her for all that her hands have done,
and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.
