Obituary of Linval Alphonso Morgan Francis

Linval Alphonso Morgan Francis (65) passed away peacefully on September 12, 2022, at his home in Easton, Pennsylvania, surrounded by his loving family.  Born May 10, 1957, in Hampstead, St. Mary, Jamaica, to his loving parents Sydney & Eleix Francis.  He attended Ferncourt and St. Jago High Schools in Jamaica. Linval excelled at Cricket and Track and Field, specializing in the 200 and 400-meter sprints. Through hard work and dedication, he earned a track and field scholarship to Seton Hall University in South Orange, NJ. Linval received his Bachelor's Degree in Molecular Biology (1983)  and Master’s of Science in Biochemistry (1986) from Seton Hall University. Linval resided in South Orange, New Jersey, before moving to Easton, PA,  13 years ago.

Linval had a long-distinguished career working as a biochemist for many of the top pharmaceutical companies globally and most recently he was employed by GlaxoSmithKline(GSK) Consumer Health Care in Warren, New Jersey as their Manager, United States Regulatory Affairs Operations and Compliance.

Linval Francis was not shy of a new challenge, and enjoyed the following hobbies: Tennis, Track & Field, Photography, Cooking (specializing in Ribs), and tackled ongoing home projects.  In 2003, his hobby of photography became a lucrative photography business, A&B Photo Services & Graphics.   In his many acts of service, he knew mentorship was vital and mentored many young athletes from Jamaica.

He is survived by his loving wife Joan Francis, and children Andrew and Brandon Francis, David and Michelle Rankine, one grandchild Hayden Rhiney, siblings Pauline Richie, Annette Rose, Karen Francis, Sydney Francis, and Roger Francis, and uncle of many of loving nieces and nephews.

Linval was a dedicated and active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Easton.

A visitation will be held on Monday, September 19th, 2022 from 5 to 7 pm at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd. Watchung, NJ, followed by a service of family tributes and remarks at 7 pm. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 20th at 10 am at the Westfield Presbyterian Church, 140 Mountain Ave. Westfield, NJ 07090. The interment to follow immediately at Somerset Hills Memorial Park in Basking Ridge, NJ.
