Gary was a year ahead of me in high school and I didn't really know Gary personally. But here is my memory, on occasion in gym class way back when, our teachers would have us play a game called Bombardment. The class would split into two teams, one on each side of the gym. And there would be two or three volley balls and the idea was to hit a member of the other team with the ball without crossing the centerline in the gym. Once you got hit you were out of the game. I really liked that game except when Gary was on the other side. Gary had an arm like a rocket and if he was aiming at you it was coming like a 100mph missile and it was gonna hurt. No one wanted to get hit by him. I sometimes think about him and this game, one of those dumb high school things that still makes you smile from time to time. I hope you see this Gary. RIP my friend.

So sorry to hear of Gary’s passing. I had a lot of good times with Gary since we were kids .. hanging out at Franklin School , fishing , parties and road trips. Then, our kids playing pop warner together. He was one of the funniest guys I ever met. Though we lost touch for a number of years, I’ll always remember the good times we had. - Jimmy Conroy

Deepest condolences to Gary's family. I was friends with Gary since we were very young. We had many fun times together fishing and attending sports. Gary was a great friend that could always make you smile. Though I moved from South Plainfield many years ago I never forgot our friendship and never will. R.I.P. Gary.

God Bless him and his family. Gary and I were boyhood friends, we attended Franklin School through H.S. (1973) As kids we played Army in the woods near the old Doc & Tims bar. He was a good athlete, funny guy and a prankster. Sad to learn of his passing. R. Weeks (formerly of Baker Avenue SP).
