While I never quite knew Mr. Manfredi other than a brief phone call, Mrs. Manfredi played a pivotal role in my life. She guided me out of an abysmal tunnel of darkness and helped me subdue my demons of self doubt, anger, and listlessness . My other mom, my mom away from home. Consequently, she and I will share an eternal bond and her sorrow will be mine. Mrs. Manfredi, we did not lose him, we gained him. He's merged with the Universe and will now give us more love, strength, and guidance. Love, Arnab

Both my wife, Anita, and I are very sad to hear of Ralph's passing and extend our most sincere condolences to his family. I was a member of the Rahway High School golf team during the years of 1966 to 1968, and as golf coach, Ralph improved the way I grip a golf club. It was such a good improvement that I continue to grip a club the same way to this day.
There are several memories I have of him in relation to the golf team, but my fondest is the time the team finally broke a three-year losing streak in the next-to-last match during my senior year. At one point during that season, Ralph told the team he would take all of us out for a big pizza party if we ever won a match, as it seemed unlikely that we ever would. However ...
It was Ascension Day, and a cool, cloudy, drizzly day at that. Ralph was at church services, so one of the gym teachers served as the substitute coach that day for a match against Plainfield. As the match was in progress, us guys on the golf team were surprised when we crossed paths with each other on different holes to find out that we were winning more points than usual. As the holes dwindled to a few remaining, there was a palpable air of optimism among us that maybe, just maybe, after three long years of losing that today finally might be our day to win a match.
As all six of us gathered around the last green and totaled up the team's score, we found out to our collective delight that we had prevailed by the narrowest of margins, winning 9-1/2 to 8-1/2! Since Ralph was not present at the match, all of us on the team decided to drive over to his apartment that night to tell him the big news. As documentation, we stapled our scorecards to a two-foot by two-foot poster-size piece of oak tag paper with the headline of "Rahway Golf Team Beats Plainfield" because no one could blame him if he did not at first believe us.
When we knocked on his door, I will never forget the look of surprise on his face! And true to his word, soon thereafter we had a very big pizza party celebration one night at Ciro's. He was a terrific guy and is sorely missed. May God be with you coach.

My deepest sympathy to Pat and the family. I was a teacher at Schor and my husband was a golf student of Ralph’s. We both have great memories of Ralph. His smile, warmth and humor will always be our forever memory of him. (I also knew Ralph from my friendship with Harry Reiser and my best friend Cathy). May Ralph Rest In Peace. Anita and Bob Handera

Mr. Manfredi was my RHS science teacher and I remember him fondly. He had a great sense of humor and his smile was infectious. He was a great teacher and I have nothing but respect for him. He truly cared about his students and I always felt that he pushed me to be the best I could be. They don't make teachers like him any more. He was one of a kind and will be missed.
My condolences to his family and my thoughts and prayers will be with you at this difficult time. God blessed you with having him in your life. I know I am a better person for having him touch my life as my teacher. Rest in Peace Mr. Manfredi and may God bless your family.

We called ourselves the three musketeers Harry and Ralph always included me. Ralph also gave me my first golf lesson
Ralph was always someone you could look up to,go to for help and advice, someone you could count on. He took me home 45 years ago when I was pregnant, none of us knowing what was happening but he got me home. He had an infectious smile and laugh Lit up any room he walked into.

Pat and the members of the Manfredi family,
It is with a sad but grateful heart that I had the pleasure and privilege of knowing your Dad for many years. In the last 9 months I got the great opportunity of learning alot from him in a lot of areas. He was a very special and gifted man with all his knowledge. I will always feel blessed and grateful for being able to share the time and the talks we had. I will miss him very much he was a truly wonderful gift from God to this world. I know that God has a very special place in heaven for him. He was a true angel on this earth and any and all who knew him in his life was truly blessed to have known him. He had a heart of gold. Pat and family know that you are in my thoughts and prayers as well as Ralph is. What we have lost heaven gained. However we gained a Guardian Angel in heaven to watch over our lives from above. Thank you Ralph for all you have done during your journey here on earth.
Forever in our hearts. May God bless you Ralph in heaven and family.
