Obituary of Ralph Patrick Manfredi
Ralph Patrick Manfredi, age 81, passed away on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, at RWJ University Hospital Somerset in Somerville, NJ. He was born in Jersey City, NJ, and has been a resident of Martinsville, NJ since 1978.
Ralph graduated from Scotch Plains High School and earned a BS in teaching and science and an MS in supervision and administration from Montclair State College. He met the love of his life while in college and they were married for 57 wonderful years.
Ralph dedicated his life to the teaching profession. He taught in the Rahway Public Schools and then went on to serve as Principal of Rahway Middle School and Principal of Rahway High School. He retired in 1994, but was soon invited to serve as Itinerant Principal for Piscataway High School, West Windsor High School, and other school districts throughout NJ. Ralph also coached youths in golf and wrestling. His dedication to education was an inspiration to many.
Throughout his life, Ralph was active in the Church and was a faithful communicant of the Blessed Sacrament Church in Martinsville, NJ.
Ralph loved traveling and enjoyed many cruises with his wife. He was devoted to his family and took great joy in spending time with them, especially his four grandchildren. Ralph was generous and kind, with a warm sense of humor that brightened any room he was in. He loved his community and will be missed by the neighbors he visited in his electric golf cart.
Mr. Manfredi is predeceased by his father, Pasquale Manfredi, his mother, Johanna (Jenny) Manfredi, and his brother Dominick Manfredi in 1997.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Anne Wolczanski Manfredi; his children Marissa Coyne and her husband David, and Patrick Manfredi; his grandchildren, Amanda Manfredi, Tyler Coyne, Dylan Coyne, and Mason Coyne, and many cousins, aunts, and uncles.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, November 17, 2022, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Higgins Home For Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd. Watchung, NJ 07069. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, November 18, 2022, at 10:00 am at Blessed Sacrament Church, 1890 Washington Valley Road, Martinsville, NJ 08836. Light refreshments will follow. Interment will be at The National Shrine of Our Lady of Czestochowa Cemetery, 654 Ferry Rd, Doylestown, PA 18901.
