In Memory of Ed Glamkowski, My boss and live-long Advisor.
I was hired by Dr. Glamkowski in late Spring of 1982 some forty years ago. He is my supervisor for a very long time till he moved to patent practice. We kept some connection in the company and after his retirement from Hoechest Celenese (later become Sanofi). After Sanofi shutdown in New Jersey, many scientists in Chemistry left as well. But we still kept a tradition of celebrate Chinese Lunar New Year with a Chinese Banquet, so our American Friends can enjoy the authentic Chinese food. Ed loves good food and a bottle of great wine. These activity last till 2012 or so, while we sold our house and moved to California, later to Vegas and Taiwan. We kept exchange family information and life's around us. This year, I did not hear from him.
Ed is a successful Scientist. He is careful and in-detail for his work. I have followed experimental procedures developed by him. He is patient and friendly to work with. I have been meeting with him on weekly basis, while I reported progresses in the Lab. I believe that he tolerated and covered many of my mistakes. He gave me many suggestions and kept his project moving in the right direction. There are over 70 Patents in my career, most of them collaborated with Ed.
With his assistance, I was adapted and developed well within the department and built great relationship with fellow colleagues.
I am grateful to him, both professional and personally, I will be missing him greatly.
With deep Sadness,
