Obituary of George Dubyna

George Dubyna, age 77, finished his journey on Tuesday, July 18, 2023, at Overlook Hospital in Summit. Born in Liebenstadt, Germany, George moved to the U.S. when he was just a kid. He spent most of his life in Scotch Plains, before moving to Berkeley Heights two years back. He also liked spending time at his Pocono Mountains home in PA.

George served in the U.S. Army for three years during the Vietnam War Era, while being stationed in Alabama. After retiring from his job at Hall’s Warehouse Corp. in South Plainfield, he liked to fish, watch NASCAR, ride motorcycles, and visit national parks.

He leaves behind his kids Mark Dubyna (and his wife Paula) and Jean Lopez (and her husband Raymond), three grandkids Kristen, Brooke and Chloe; his sister Lorisa and his companion of 34 years, Carol Christatos.

We're having a get-together to remember George on Saturday, July 22, 2023, from 10am to 12 pm at the Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, NJ. There'll be a memorial service at 12 pm.
