Ms. Sue was my para during my last two years of high school. In this role, one of Ms. Sue’s main responsibilities was to make course material accessible for me. Whether this meant transforming written material into Braille, enlarging images or creating tactile graphics, Ms. Sue did an unbelievable job. With the exception of an elective or two, I was enrolled in AP and honors courses, which meant that the material that Ms. Sue had to prepare for me was excessive and, in many cases, complex. Despite this, Ms. Sue always did everything in her power to make sure I had what I needed. More importantly, Ms. Sue went above and beyond for me. I know that she cared for me and the students she worked with before and after me. She truly made an effort to get to know her students and she was always so thoughtful. I remember she gifted me a necklace with a music note symbol on it for my birthday one year because she noticed that I would always sing to myself when working in her office. Ms. Sue also had a brilliant sense of humor. She was witty and sarcastic in the best possible way. She had the ability to make you smile no matter how bad of a day you were having. Needless to say, Ms. Sue was an incredibly special human being with a beautiful soul. I will miss her, but I find comfort in knowing that her legacy will live on. My thoughts are with Ms. Sue’s family and friends.

To the Leider Family,
My deepest condolences to you all. Susan was a part of my Payroll team at Verizon. She was a dedicated hard worker that uplifted us all with her smile, laughter, and kindness. There was a brief moment when she thought that her work was not up to par, and was considering leaving. We talked for a while, and I informed her that she was wrong. I explained that she was doing great, that she was exactly what the team needed. She was where she needed to be at that time until she could pursue her dream job. Years later we would laugh about that conversation.
She was a breath of fresh air to the team. She will be missed.
Sleep in peace, Sue!
Sabrina

To the Leidner family, I’d like to offer my deepest condolences on Sue’s passing. I had the great honor of working alongside Sue as she was a paraprofessional in my classroom. My daughter also had the benefit of her presence in both her first and fourth grade classes. I was extremely blessed to know Sue and I considered her more than a coworker but a great friend. She always had a calm and grounding presence. She was always there to lend a hand or an ear. She had a great sense of humor and could make us laugh and see things in a new way, and offered great ideas and solutions to challenges, as we journeyed through our school year together. Sue went above and beyond for her students and was part of the fabric of the Franklin Park school community. She was a role model and often gave generously with her time volunteering for many events and charitable endeavors we held at the school. I have fond memories of us collecting coins and making ribbon pins for Ukraine, bagel breakfasts for Breast Cancer awareness and wearing group teacher costumes together for spirit days. She was part of my school family and she will be greatly missed. I know that she is loved and adored by her family, I just wanted you to know how much she was loved and adored by her coworkers and difference that she made by just being her wonderful self.

I have fond memories of Susan (or Susie as I knew her) growing up on Southard Place. I can remember riding bikes around the block as well as playing school in my basement, going on adventures in the woods and of course lots of sleigh riding on snow days. Susan was a kind person who was always upbeat and never spoke badly of anyone.
I'm sorry to hear about her sudden passing and I pray she rests in peace.
To the Leidner family, I extend my deepest sympathy and I hope in time all the wonderful memories of Susan will bring a smile to your face and peace to your heart.

Sue worked across the hall from me for four years at FHS. She and I had many lovely conversations and she would always give me encouragement and love. Her constant smile made me happy, no matter my troubles. She was so giving to her students and worked tirelessly. She will be sorely missed!

I am so saddened to hear of Sue's passing. She was such a kind, sweet person. I mainly only knew her to say hi when we passed in the hallways but I had the pleasure of working with her in summer school two years ago. She was such a kind and caring person and our FPS family will truly miss her. I am sending her family and friends my deepest condolences.

Sue and I only worked together for a few years but I had the great pleasure of spending everyday with her last year on the playground and in the cafeteria. We became friends, joked around all the time, enjoyed our time in the sun reliving the days when we had recess. She showed nothing but love and heart to the kids in her class especially her main buddy, Emma. I'll look after Emma as I am lucky to have her in my classroom this school year.
Peace and strength to you, her loving family, at this difficult time.
