Nancy and I were friends since grammar school where we were in a group of ten girls who called ourselves the QTs. QTs stood for Quiet Ten, but we were anything but quiet. We would get together at one of our homes and, at that time, our conversations were mostly about boys. This group continued on into high school, even having jackets made with QTs on the back. We attended Irvington High School where Nancy was very interested in music and some sports activities. She was in glee club and played the flute. We continued our friendship after high school on into our adult days and marriage. When the QTs got together at that point, our conversations were about how we took care of our children. Nancy’s family and mine had another love. We would go camping each weekend at a campground in upper New Jersey in Sussex County. Our families became very good friends. As the years went by the families drifted apart, but Nancy and I managed to remain best friends. As we grew older we weren’t able to get to see each other, but we spoke on the phone all the time. My family and I want to send our condolences to Nancy’s whole family. The Charette Family has donated to the Jersey Shore Animal Center in Brick, NJ, in memory of Nancy.
