Obituary of Nancy Jean Remington-Rossnagel

Nancy Jean Remington-Rossnagel, age 90, of Brick, New Jersey, went to be with the Lord on October 28, 2023. Born in Elizabeth, New Jersey, to Thomas and Ruth Chapman, Nancy was raised in Irvington where she met and married Roger A. Remington. Together, they started their family and eventually settled in Berkeley Heights. The couple cherished many years of square dancing, even embarking on club trips to Bermuda.

Nancy dedicated her early years to being a stay-at-home mom, and once her children were in school, she took up employment at Tall Fashions in Millburn. A voracious reader, Nancy was seldom seen without a captivating book in hand. Her love for singing was evident from her younger days in church choirs and glee clubs. She was an integral part of every choir in every church she attended. Over the years, she always had the company of her beloved canine friends, most notably her Sheltie Collies.

Later in life, Nancy married Walter Rossnagel, merging two lifelong families into one. She spent her last seven years at Chelsea in Brick, where she received the utmost care from its loving staff. In her final days, the dedicated team at Grace Hospice ensured her comfort.

Nancy was predeceased by her sister, Cynthia Anderson; her husband, Walter; and stepson, David.

She is fondly remembered by her "greatest legacy": Jill O’Neil and her husband, Jim; Jan Siberine and her husband, Bob; Sally Krutulis; Danny Remington and his wife, Paula; and Steven Remington and his wife, Karen. She also leaves behind ten grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

A viewing will take place on Saturday, November 4, from 2 to 5 PM at Higgins Home For Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, NJ 07069, followed by a 5 PM Funeral Service. Interment will be private and held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Nancy's name may be directed to the ASPCA or a local animal shelter of your choosing.
