To Aviva, Jeremy, Aaron, Joan and Alan and the whole family,
We were so saddened by the news of David's passing. We somehow lost touch in recent years but I always thought we would see each other again. I have many fond memories from the 60 years (!) we knew each other.
Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to "attend" the funeral from home.
Sending hugs - our thoughts are with you.

My deepest condolences to Aviva, Aaron and Jeremy and family. I was on Year Course with David, but unfortunately, I didn’t get to know him then. I was very grateful that I made it with my husband to our 50th YC reunion in 2018, and I got to spend some time with David and I met Aviva. It was a magical weekend, and I'll never forget Erev Shabbat at Joel’s, hearing David play guitar (and maybe harmonica?) I know what a mensh he was, a terrific husband and father and passionate about the rights of all people.
Zichrono livracha.

David and I worked together at NJEA and unfortunately when 911 happened. For whatever reason I didn’t have my radio on that morning so he would be the first to tell me that it happened. While he explained we both fought back tears as we talked briefly and then he said I just want to go home and hug my sons. I said go he gave me a hug and shortly left. He was a comfort to me that day and I am forever grateful to know that side of him. My condolences to Aviva Aaron Jeremy and family.

David and I worked together at NJEA many years ago. I still remember his compassionate demeanor and his love of music. Much sympathy to the family. Arlene Derrico

I was fortunate to work with David at NJEA. We chatted about politics, the Yankees, and family. He was thoughtful, helpful, and a terrific conversationalist. My deepest condolences to the Rosenberg family. May David’s memory always be for a blessing.

My name is Stacey Williams. I worked with David for many years at New Jersey Education Association and was proud to call him a dear friend. My fondest memories with David were of spending time in his office chatting about what he loved most -- family. David always spoke with great pride of his sons (there was hardly any room in his office for me once his chest puffed out full of love and stories of the great things his sons were accomplishing). Some time later I transferred to our Flemington office and David would join our little group working from there; we welcomed David with open arms and always enjoyed his professionalism and company. I will never forget getting my only parking ticket in Flemington the day we went to lunch! We laughed about it. I eventually retired and lost touch with everyone but those who mattered to me always live on in my memories. David and I spoke during the Covid-19 lockdown and caught up rather quickly. I learned he grew his hair out and took up playing harmonica; of course visions of Woodstock came to mind. He sounded absolutely thrilled in his new journey and I was overjoyed for him. I received a call from a friend a few weeks ago who told me of David's health issue -- I was devastated. Not knowing what to say to someone so wonderful and kind, I dialed his number and said, "David! My friend!" The conversation was difficult in subject matter but as easy as it had always been. David was in rehab hoping to be released in a few days. We spoke of his sons, greater family accomplishments, and his absolute resolve to fight. He said he would and he did. David was a man of his word. We ended with becoming Facebook friends and David meeting my new cat, Laila, by text message. I told David Laila would also keep him company. David agreed to speak again when he was able and we exchanged friendly "I Love You, Friend" words in parting. I am deeply saddened by David's passing. My deepest condolences to the Rosenberg's and all who loved him. --Stacey Williams
