I met Jimmy as a freshman at Mississippi State, going through rush. Two months later we had formed a band, Roadhouse.
Billy Peel, my roommate, was on base. Doug Gardner from Maine was lead singer and rhythm guitar. I was on drums, and Jimmy
was lead guitar. Those were some great days. I miss them. Jimmy was truly gifted on the guitar. He could listen to a song, and in
about 15 minutes he had picked the whole song by ear. Rest in peace my friend.
