Dear Mrs Greybek, Donna and family, I am so sorry for your loss. Dr Dan was a true caring and compassionate wonderful man. I know how he made us all feel so welcome with our pets. Always a kind word, our pets have lost their special doctor too. Daisy was the last to be cared by you and hopefully she will see you in heaven. Daisy went to her resting place yesterday.
God bless all our Greybek family. Sincere sympathy, The Lare family.

I met Dr. Greybek for the first time when I was about 12 years old. Im 54 now. My family operated the Roxdane Kennels Pet Care Center in 1965 and we still do today. Whenever a pet in our care needed medical attention, I would ride along with my dad to go see Dr Greybek. I will never forget how amazing it was to watch him speaking directly to his animal patients. From my perspective as a 12 year old, he was the genuine Dr. Dolittle. He created magical memories for me and I loved him for that. Donna, Mrs. Greybek, you have my deepest condolences. He was a great man!

I remember at our veterinary school graduation in 1996 when Donna got her diploma as the veterinary torch was passed on to the next generation. Dr. Greybek was so obviously proud of his daughter. My thoughts go out to you, Donna, and your family during this difficult time.

I remember Dr.Greybek when I was a little girl and we took one of our cats "Pinky Baloo" or our Cocker Spaniel "Angel Eyes" to see their "one & only friend". I think the 1st thing he ever said to either of them was "How's our little guy today? Not feeling well? Speaking to them like children, comforting them and calming them... he was a pure gem to all of our pets from the time I was growing up as a little girl in Warren to the time I began living in Plainfield and only seeing a different vet once (because he wasn't available on a Sunday emergency call). Dr. Donna is exactly like her dad, and I wish to God all people were. He knew when it was time to say goodbye to our "little buddies" and helped so many others to get well so they could be with us longer than expected...he will be dearly missed. On a side note.. it wasn't until after I married, that I found out my husband, Mark had also been seeing him with his pet "Gretchen" for many years as well! Goodbye Dr. Greybek...see you later with all our little pals playing under that rainbow :) You will be missed & loved by all.

Dear Scott and family, I was so sad to hear of your loss, and wished I could have made it to see you in person at the service. Al I can say is your Dad is one of the great memories of my childhood in our small town. I always looked forward to seeing him interact with my pets, and he was the greatest. I also spent some years bowling in the same league with him, something I know you and he shared a passion for. I'm just down the road from you in Scotch Plains, we should get together. Regards, Tim Snyder

From the moment in 1980–on a holiday weekend!–when he saved our 7-week-old puppy which had become desperately ill, we knew we had found “our vet”! Dr. Dan was always knowledgeable, compassionate, honest, and kind, and never did less than his very best to care for his patients and their owners. No one has yet been able to match his patter as he “talked to the animals” through every exam. I bet that Dr. Dan will be greeted by big hugs, warm handshakes, wagging tails and purring throats, all saying thanks for everything. His legacy will endure through his family, Dr. Donna, the practice, and the memories we have. Only knowing the family in some small ways, I offer my sincerest sympathy on their loss.

Dr. Dan always had a smile on his face and always greeted his patient like an old friend. He was a tall and big man but his gentle spirit was even bigger. His lovely daughter carries on that tradition of loving compassion for the health of our loved ones, our pets. May he rest in piece.

I will never forget my Father n Law. He was such a smart, nice, friendly, caring, and fun man. He always welcomed anyone that he saw with a great big Hello and How are you? No matter how sick he felt at the time in the last three years.
We have many laughs over the years of knowing him, cause he always was clowning around.
I had one of my best Christmas's ever, when the whole family had a snow ball fight outside his granddaughter's house.
He of course participated in the fun!
We laughed so much that day!
He will be so well missed. But, kept in our hearts forever!!!

Dr. Dan - such a kind soul. I remember when you opened your practice in April 1969 and I brought my sick cat to you. I was only nine years old and you had to put "Kiska" down. Over 40 years have passed and you have taken care of my menagerie of cats, ferrets, rabbits, guinea pigs and even a gerbil. Most of them were in your care and saw your kind face and heard your sweet voice as you held them in their journey to eternal life. I find peace in knowing that they are all there to greet you as you cross the bridge. My love and prayers go to your family. You have touched the hearts of so many.
