Obituary of Adolphe Greybek
Dr. Adolphe Daniel Greybek, age 76, died peacefully after a 3 year battle with pancreatic cancer on Saturday, November 1, 2014 at Overlook Hospital in Summit surrounded by his family. Born and raised in Chester, PA, he has resided in Warren for the past forty-five years.
Dan served as a Captain in the Veterinary Corp of the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He graduated Penn State University in 1959 with a Bachelor of Science Degree; he continued his education and went on to the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine where he received his VMD in 1963. On April 1, 1969, he opened his practice in Warren called the Animal Clinic of Warren, PA; he built and designed the building on Washington Valley Road to meet his specific needs. Dan was happy to work side-by-side for the last 17 years in the clinic with his daughter Dr. Donna Greybek .
Professionally, he was a member of the NJVMA and the American Veterinary Medical Association for which he received the honor of Emeritus status for serving in the veterinary profession for over 50 yeas
Dan was an active member of Our Lady of the Mount Church in Warren. He was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus and in his younger years enjoyed his involvement in the church's CYO youth group. In his spare time he loved golfing, bowling was an avid sports fan, he enjoyed being a handyman around the house.
His greatest joy was spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren.
Surviving is his wife of fifty years, Mimi (Zvolenik) Greybek, his son Daniel Scott Greybek and his wife Wendy of Green Brook, daughters Danielle Suzanne Greybek of Warren and Dr. Donna Greybek Caprioni and her husband Mark of Green Brook; his two grandchildren Jarrid and Nadine Greybek.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 6, 2014, at 9:30 a.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, NJ, followed by a Mass of Resurrection at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of the Mount Church, Warren. Entombment will follow at Somerset Hills Memorial Park, Basking Ridge. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
