Mr. Strub was my English teacher at PHS for 3 years, 1961-64. He was a kind and dedicated teacher, very orderly and provided us with many insights into literature and good writing habits. I enjoyed reconnecting with him over the last couple of years. We had lunch several times at O'Connors and his conversation was delightful. Despite his frailty and pain, he was cheerful and good-spirited, interested in my career and family and sharing stories and reminiscences of life at PHS. I feel very fortunate to have known him. I hope that I may be able to come to the Memorial Service, but if not able to because of the snow, I wanted his family to know how much his friendship meant to me.

I met George Strub in 1969 when I first began teaching in Plainfield High School ... he was such a kind, intelligent man and I respected him a great deal. His name just came up on Tuesday afternoon when several teachers were discussing his leadership with Joy Gidding Dryfoos who is writing the history of PHS ... she graduated in 1943 from PHS and remembered him as her teacher. Although his eyesight was failing him in late years, I know he had a wonderful retirement. May his memory be eternal.
