Obituary of Haydee M. Vercesi

Summit: Haydee M. Vercesi, age 44 died on Saturday, January 10th at Overlook Hospital in Summit. Mrs. Vercesi was born in Bahia Blanca, Argentina and moved to the United States in 1988. Mrs. Vercesi received a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Tandil University in Argentina and a Masters of Science Degree from Texas A & M in 1994. She worked at the State University of New York-Stony Brook from 1995 to 1998 as a scientist and moved to Mt. Sinai in 1999. She most recently worked as a research scientist for the past 4 years at Schering-Plough in Kenilworth. Mrs. Vercesi loved music and choirs and was very involved in human rights organizations especially those dealing with children. She was also very involved in adoption programs for children. She is survived by her husband, Fred Lahser; her son Christopher Lahser-Vercesi, both of Springfield; her mother, Elisa Martinez; a brother, Hector Hugo Vercesi; and 2 sisters, Silvana Vercesi and Susana Vercesi.
