Obituary of Edward Burt Brazill

Burt Brazill, age 80, died on Friday February 6th at Somerset Medical Center in Somerville. Mr. Brazill was born in Jersey City and had lived in Green Brook for 46 years formerly of Teaneck. He served in the Army Air Force during WWII and later received a B.A. Degree from Hobart College, Geneva NY. in 1949. He was a founder and C.E.O. for Brazill Brothers in Metuchen, NJ for the past 53 years. He and his late brother Robert established Brazill Brothers & Associates, Inc., an electrical manufacturer representative organization in Manhattan, NY in 1951, and Raceway Components, Inc., of Nutley, NJ an electrical Manufacturing company in 1971. In 1987, Brazill Brothers moved to Metuchen, NJ. He served on the Green Brook Recreation Committee and was a Trustee at Gill St. Bernards School in Gladstone, NJ. He was an active supporter of Green Brook, Immaculata and Gill St. Bernards athletic programs. Burt was devoted to his family, his work, loved to travel and was an avid sports fan. Surviving are his wife of 56 years Agnes Brazill; three sons Burt of Ridgefield, Ct., William of Hillsborough and Dennis of Brookfield, Ct.; five daughters; Teresa Brazill of Warren, , Patricia Bera of Kinnelon, Diane Taylor of Sparta, Donna Nagel of Hillsborough and Kelly MacKay of Huntington, LI, NY. Also surviving are 21 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday February 11th at 9:30 a.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung followed by a 10:30 a.m. Funeral Mass at St. Marys Stony Hill Church, Watchung. Interment will follow at St. Marys Stony Hill Cemetery, Watchung. Friends may visit at the funeral home Tuesday 2-4 & 6-9 p.m. Memorial Contributions may be made to Pass It Along, Inc. Box 457, Sparta, NJ, 07871, an organization of volunteers meeting the critical needs of the communities of New Jersey.
