Obituary of Genevieve DeFellipo

Genevieve M. (Garafalo) DeFellipo, age 73, died on Thursday, April 22, 2004 at Overlook Hospital in Summit. Mrs. DeFellipo was born in Plainfield and had lived in North Plainfield before moving to Scotch Plains 37 years ago. Mrs. DeFellipo was a homemaker. She was a communicant of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Scotch Plains. She is predeceased by her son, Frank Defellipo, Jr. on January 25, 2004. Surviving are her husband, Frank Defellipo, Sr. of Scotch Plains; her daughters, Jessica Wilkins and her husband Bill of Scotch Plains; Laurel Turchin and her fianc Thomas Monaco of Scotch Plains; her brother Alexander Garafalo of North Plainfield; and her sister Alma Farrell of North Plainfield. Also surviving are six grandchildren, Les, Scott and Johnny Turchin and Billy, Victoria and Sophia Wilkins. The funeral will be held on Monday, April 26th at 9:00 a.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 461 Somerset Street, North Plainfield followed by a 10:00 a.m. Memorial Service at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Scotch Plains. Visitation will be on Sunday, April 25 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, please have a mass said in her name at the church of your choice.
