I graduated from Holy Spirit High in 91. Had Sister Laurie’s for Sophomore history. She was a good teacher that expected a lot from her students. I still remember much of the Gettysburg address that we were required to memorize by heart. She had some memorable sayings that she used often in the classroom. “Birdy Bird” for misbehaving students.
I am grateful for all her efforts as a teacher. She was strict but you could see it came from a place of love and care. Condolences to her family and bless her soul.

I taught with Sister in the same department for many years at Holy Spirit High School. She was a dear friend and mentor. I am sure she has found peace and is already running the show in heaven.

As one of Sr. Laurita's( Aunt Helen)nieces, this is a nice way to say thank you to all those staff and friends at McAuley Hall... for their loving care of my aunt in the last days of her life. God's blessings to you. The memories are many. Her life was full and she lived it with joy and enthusiasm. I'm so glad she stayed as long as she did..we will miss her counsel and love. She's at Home now and that is good.

Sister Laurita was my 10th grade homeroom teacher at Cathedral High School in 1970. I never got away with anything in her class. She caught me everytime (and I saw her smiling as she turned away from me after she reprimanded me more than once). God Be With Sister Laurita.
She will always be in my prayers.

Sister Laurita was my teacher at Holy Spirit H.S.
I have some fond memories of her as a funny yet very strict teacher. I was just thinking about her the other day as I reflected on some of my hich school years. She was definitely one of my favorites and she willbe missed.
