Uncle Gaspar .. suffice to say he was a striking presence who filled a room with laughter and good cheer whenever he entered. He was certainly one of our family role models ... a successful entrepreneur who shared his success with others through his generosity and friendship. I'll always remember looking forward to seeing him, knowing we'd be sitting and listening to his funny stories and jokes ... a guy who could absolutely give Henny Youngman a run for his money when it came to having an endless supply of one-liners and delivering a punch line. If he'd not chosen the route that gained him local fame as a successful restauranteur, I have no doubt we'd be watching his accomplishments in theatre, film or television. He'll surely be missed by all of his family and friends, and for sure, not forgotten. Uncle G., I know you're likely deep into your supply of "Getting into the gates of heaven" jokes with Saint Peter, so I'll sign off for now ... with love ... using your pet name for me that always gave me yet one more laugh ...
