Obituary of Gaspar C. Marino

Gaspar C. Marino, age 86, died on Wednesday, May 19th at Watchung Ridge Assisted Living in Watchung. Born in Brooklyn, he grew up there and had lived in Elizabeth before moving to Toms River 9 years ago. He moved to Watchung Ridge 2 years ago. Mr. Marino was the owner of Brokaws Seafood Restaurant in Elizabeth from 1948 to 1960 and then was the owner of Hillside Seafood House form 1960 to 1995. He served in the Army during World War II as a member of 81 mm gun crew and was overseas for 27 months in African and Italian campaigns. He is survived by his wife, Frances (Pulsinelli) Marino; his sons, Robert C. Marino and Michael R. Marino; his sisters, Gussie Cotroneo, Virginia Incorvaia and Nancy Dimino. Also surviving are 4 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Monday May 24th at 8:45 am at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung followed by a 9:30 am Funeral Mass at St. Marys Stony Hill Church in Watchung. Entombment will be in St. Teresas Mausoleum in Summit. The visitation will be on Sunday, May 23rd from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.
