Louis P. Scotti died peacefully on Thursday, June 3, 2004 at Overlook Hospital in Summit after a long fight with prostate and bone cancer. He was 69.
Born in Somerville, he grew up in Watchung before moving to North Plainfield in 1960.
Lou graduated from North Plainfield High School in 1952 and served in the Army for 2 years. He worked at Haller Testing Laboratories in Plainfield for 36 years and at Summit Drilling in Bridgewater for 10 years, retiring in 1999. He was a member of the Carpenter Union, Local 1536.
Lou was an avid New York Rangers, Mets and Giants fan and loved to play golf. He especially loved his 3 precious grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents and a sister.
Lou will be most sadly missed by his wife of 43 years, Sally (Dammann), his daughters, Kara Cinti and her husband Ed and Lorna Goodman and her husband Frank; his beloved grandchildren, Hannah, Connor and Julianna; his sister Adele Fucci and his brothers Henry and Donald. Also surviving are his seven nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 7, 2004 at 10:30 a.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung. Interment will follow in Springdale Methodist Church Cemetery, Warren. Visitation will be on Sunday, June 6th from 2-4 & 7-9 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his memory to Overlook Hospital Foundation/Cancer Center, 36 Upper Overlook Road, Summit, NJ 07901.
