I will always remember the vacations that we had together and the laughter we all shared when Aunt Marie, Uncle Ed and Ann came to visit. I still have the pictures of the fun we had together. Aunt Marie, you will me missed by all of us. I love you and I know that you are with my mom and dad and that I will get to see you when its my time to leave this earth.

I have been blessed in my life to have had two mothers. My own dear Mom and my "other" mother, my Aunt Marie. Time nor miles could keep the love that I felt for her far from my heart. I could pick up the phone and we would start talking like no time had passed. She was a remarkable woman. She filled the void when I lost my Mom and Dad. There is no one like her and I doubt that there ever will be. She had such inner strength and I thought she would always be here. I am glad to know that she is at peace. Her final time wasn't the way she would have wanted to live her life. She was the "caretaker" not the other way around. She loved her family. She was the Birch family matriarch. She loved her brothers ( one of them being my Dad) and her sister. She was so proud of Annie. She always felt lucky to have her. I am proud of Annie too, for taking such good care of her Mom and allowing her to be with the ones she loved until the end. Aunt Marie, I love you and I pray that when my time has ended here on Earth, that I will join you and all of the others that I love so much. God Bless. I thank God for placing her in my life. My heart goes out to you all. Having just lost my mom, I know how you feel - especially you,Annie, as you were the main caregiver. No one understands how hard caregiving is unless they've done it themselves.
Your mom is at peace now. Hopefully you all will be able to find peace in your hearts, too.

I not only lost a mom, but my best friend.
we were incredibly close.
But I did my best to keep her home during her long and devistating disease.
She was born "at home" and she died "at home"
Now Mom and Dad are together at last.

Marie was like a 2nd Mom to me, as Kenny and I grew up on Leland Avenue. I will never forget her catching us smoking Have a Tampa Jewels in ken's bedroom. We were so clever that we thought simply opening the window and blowing the smoke out would provide sufficient cover. I remember Kenny and I wondering around Plainfield, stopping into Kresge's so Marie could buy us a Coke on a hot day. Kenny and Ann Marie, you are in my prayers during this incredibly difficult time. It is an awsome load of work ahead, but I know you will rise to the occasion. God bless you all. I'll see you Tuesday evening.
