Dear Johnny, just wanted to say hello. Now that Dad is with you, I wonder how different things are. So many questions ... are you together often. There are so many things going on with Melissie, I am sure you know what they are, good & not so good. I lift her in my prayes and know that you & Dad are staying close by. You are a wonderful brother & uncle. Please keep us in your prayers and watch over us. We miss you & Mellie thinks of you all the time. I want it to be easier for her. Hopefully you & Dad can help her. And you, Johnny, free & well now, at last. I wish you were here, healthy, but I keep you in my heart, always. Stay warm & keep loving us as we do you. I'll talk to you later. Love, Julie

Dearest Johnny,
Time for another birthday. It is unbelieveable that we have had 4 birthdays without you here. So sad for us, so joyful for you. And now, this year, you have our Dear Dad with you! Lucky You! I hope the two of you have a wonderful time together, Dad missed you so. It's not easier without you . . . but we know you are free, and so brave. Love you, Johnny, always and forever. I am attaching the poem that Melissie sent to you last year, but then it go lost in a computer glitch. Do you see all that is going on with her? Graduation, and now she is engaged. I know you love Ryan, and I know in my heart of hearts that you are watching over them. Please ask Jesus to keep them in His merciful care. For now, we wish you Birthday Joy, here comes the poem, and I will talk to you later, Love Julie
Wild Geese - Mary Oliver
You do not have to be good.
You do not have to walk on your knees
for a hundred miles through the desert repenting.
You only have to let the soft animal of your body
love what it loves.
Tell me about despair, yours, and I will tell you mine.
Meanwhile the world goes on.
Meanwhile the sun and the clear pebbles of the rain
are moving across the landscapes,
over the prairies and the deep trees,
the mountains and the rivers.
Meanwhile the wild geese, high in the clean blue air,
are heading home again.
Whoever you are, no matter how lonely,
the world offers itself to your imagination,
calls to you like the wild geese, harsh and exciting —
over and over announcing your place
in the family of things.

Not my words, Johnny, but my wish ... I'll write soon, until then, "I'll talk to you later ... "
Peace My Heart ...
Peace, my heart, let the time for the parting be sweet.
Let it not be a death but completeness.
Let love melt into memory and pain into songs.
Let the flight through the sky end in the folding of the wings over the nest.
Let the last touch of your hands be gentle like the flower of the night.
Stand still, O Beautiful End, for a moment, and say your last words in silence.
I bow to you and hold up my lamp to light you on your way.

I first met John when we worked together on the night crew at Acme markets, where we became friends. I enjoyed the times we spent together at work, with friends, at a Met game or whatever we did; John was always fun to be around. He had a wonderful sense of humor and we always had fun together. One of my fondest memories was in 1986 when myself and John, along with John Barry and his girlfriend, stopped by my house to watch game 6 of the world series. The Mets were just about to lose the whole series at this point, and you never saw three sorrier looking guys in your life. Then John Barry's girlfriend said to us, "come on guys, it's just a game" a comment which was not well recieved nor did anything to erase the despondent looks from our faces. Then a miracle happened, the ball went through Bill Buckners legs and the Mets tied the game... suddenly three grown men are in a circle, arms wrapped around each other, jumping up and down and screaming hysterically!!!It WAS more than just a game it was a moment I'll always remember and I'm glad I got to share it with John. I don't know anybody who knew John that didn't like him, he was just a good person. My prayers are with his family and friends. To John, my friend,I will miss you, your sense of humor and those private little jokes that only we understood. We've all had our struggles in life and yours is now over, may you rest in peace. In the words of a former coworker "You're an excellent dude"</b></font><br><br>
