Obituary of John Christopher Duffy

John Christopher Duffy, age 43, died peacefully at home on Sunday, November 14, 2004. He was born in Newark and had lived for the majority of his life in North Plainfield. John worked for Acme Supermarkets for 17 years before moving on to other positions in the food service industry including chef at the Marriott Hotel in Mountainside. He was an avid reader and loved to draw. John loved the woods, the ocean and animals, especially dogs. His love of nature drew him to Trailside Museum in Watchung where he performed many duties including giving tours and talks to children. John is the cherished son of James and Lillian Duffy of North Plainfield; the dear brother of Julie Hope and Christina Faith of North Plainfield and James Duffy of Manville; He dearly loved his niece, Melissa and nephews, Ivan, Neil, and Thomas. He was so proud of each one of them. Also surviving are many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 18, 2004 at 9:15 am at Higgins Home for Funerals, 461 Somerset St., North Plainfield followed by a 10:00 am funeral Mass at St. Josephs RC Church in North Plainfield. Interment will follow at St. Marys Stony Hill Church Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 5 :00 to 8:00 p.m.
